Etienne Eto’o joins Mirandés on loan from Rayo Vallecano

Etienne Eto’o, the 23-year-old son of Barcelona legend Samuel Eto’o, will play this season on loan at Mirandés in LaLiga Hypermotion. The striker was not in coach Iñigo Pérez’s plans for the Rayo Vallecano first team and found a new destination on the final day of the transfer market.

From Rayo B Star to First-Team Challenge

Etienne enjoyed a remarkable season with Rayo Vallecano B, scoring 30 goals and leading the team to promotion to the Segunda RFEF. His performances earned him a debut with the Rayo first team in LaLiga last season.
However, turning 23 meant he could no longer be registered as a U23 player. To continue with the first team, he would have needed to take one of the 25 senior squad spots, limiting his playing time and development.

Loan Move Provides Opportunity

Etienne to gain regular minutes in Spain’s second tier, a crucial step in his career progression. Rayo believe the move will help the young forward continue his growth in a competitive environment.

Rayo Vallecano are also finalizing the signing of Alemano for €5.5 million, expected to be their final reinforcement of the summer transfer window.
