The record-breaking move involved top-level negotiations between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Michele Kang, the businesswoman who owns London City Lionesses and was recently appointed director at Olympique Lyonnais.
A Year of Major Moves in Women’s Football
Geyoro’s transfer caps off a remarkable year of big-money moves in women’s football across the globe.
In July 2024, Canadian star Olivia Smith moved to Arsenal for £1 million (€1.15m). A month later, Mexico’s Tigres earned nearly €1.3m from Orlando Pride for winger Lizbeth Ovalle. Earlier, in the January 2024 window, Chelsea paid just over €1m for U.S. defender Naomi Girma.

End of an Era at PSG
Geyoro’s departure closes the chapter on her 13 years with PSG, including 11 seasons in the first team. During her time in Paris, she won three French Cups, a domestic league title, and also lifted the U19 Women’s Euro Championship with France.
Her move to London not only strengthens the Lionesses but also signals the rapid growth and increasing financial power of the women’s game worldwide.
